Speaking exclusively to games™ as part of our issue 173 cover feature on Gears Of War 4, we asked whether or not The Coalition had been in touch with 343 Industries who also had to pick up a massive Xbox franchise from its previous developer when it began producing Halo titles.
“We’ve used that as a model for our situation,” Chuck Osieja, creative director at The Coalition told us. ” They were a really good roadmap for us to be able to see, how does the community react to 343 as they’re building out Halo 4? What they did to get the community on board in terms of their really great relationship with their community. We did that same thing with the Gears community. And again it really started for them with do it right before you do it different. That’s the lesson we learnt from them and that’s the lesson we’re putting into place here. They’ve been a really great roadmap for us.”
